Secretary General of the Council of Europe Sends Letter to Bayramov Regarding Armenian POW Killings
The Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Maria Pejčinović Burić, has sent a letter to Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, demanding "clear and detailed" information on the measures taken by the Azerbaijani authorities regarding potential violations of Articles 2 and 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights, in connection with the video evidence of extrajudicial killings of Armenian prisoners of war.
“Please note that the Council of Europe will continue to closely monitor this issue within the framework of the mandate provided by the European Convention on Human Rights, in order to fully comply with the organization’s standards,” emphasized Burić in her letter.
