Why the Ukrainian Ambassador Was Summoned by Belarus's Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Ukrainian ambassador to Belarus, Igor Kizim, was summoned to the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday evening, where he was handed a diplomatic note for the "country's plans to strike Kyiv." This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on Sunday.
"On the evening of October 8, the Ukrainian ambassador Igor Kizim was invited to the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where a diplomatic note was handed to him," the report stated. The note elaborated that "the Belarusian side claims that Ukraine is planning to launch strikes on Belarusian territory." Kyiv has stated that this information does not correspond to reality.
On October 4, during a meeting regarding military security, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko noted that Ukraine is concerned about the possibility of Belarus joining military operations; however, he has reinforced a group of up to 15,000 soldiers along the border.
