Details of the EU's Eighth Package of Sanctions Against Russia Revealed

The European Union has officially confirmed the eighth package of sanctions against Russia, according to TASS, citing the press service of the European Commission.

The new anti-Russian restrictions include a ban on the import of goods worth 7 billion euros from Russia, including coal, electronic components for weapons, aviation parts, and chemicals. There is also a maximum price cap on Russian oil.

Additionally, EU citizens are prohibited from holding high positions in Russian state companies and engaging in any transactions with Russia's maritime shipping registry. Russians are banned from holding cryptocurrencies in EU countries.

Representatives of the EU emphasized that Europe will continue to impose sanctions on individuals who assist in circumventing these restrictions. "The European Commission welcomes the agreement reached by member states today on the eighth package of sanctions. We will never accept Putin's fake referendums or any annexation of Ukraine; we are determined to continue making the Kremlin pay," the EU's statement said.
