Moscow Confirms Muradov is in Ukraine
The Russian Ministry of Defense has officially confirmed for the first time that Rustam Muradov, the first commander of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh, is now located in Ukraine, leading one of the three combat groups fighting here.
According to Russia's military agency, Rustam Muradov, commander of the 'East' grouping, reported to Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu at the command post about the current situation and the execution of combat tasks aimed at defeating the enemy in the area of responsibility.
“It had not been previously reported that the commander of the 'East' grouping was Rustam Muradov,” recalls the Interfax news agency.
Muradov commanded the Russian military contingent deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh for about 10 months, from November 11, 2020, to September 9, 2021.
