Weapons Seized from Relatives of David Tonoyan Returned: 'Zhoghovurd'
According to the newspaper 'Zhoghovurd,' the NSS has returned the weapons seized from the relatives of former Minister of Defense David Tonoyan, which were confiscated over seven months ago from their residence. However, the weapons confiscated from the former minister's residence have not been returned as the owner, in this case, the minister, remains in custody.
It is noteworthy that in September 2021, the NSS had searched the apartments of Tonoyan and his relatives, seizing weapons that were donated to Tonoyan as well as those belonging to his relatives. Seven months later, the relatives' weapons have been returned, while Tonoyan continues to remain in the 'Yerevan-Center' penitentiary.
As is known, a criminal case was initiated in the investigative department of the NSS regarding alleged abuses in the procurement process of military ammunition. Charges have been brought against seven individuals, including former Minister of Defense David Tonoyan, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces Artak Davtyan, former Deputy Chief of the General Staff Stepan Galstyan, and businessman Davit Galstyan, known by the nickname 'Patron Davo,' who is involved in weapon supplies.
Currently, in the 'Yerevan-Center' penitentiary, 'in the KGB basement,' are former Minister of Defense David Tonoyan, former Deputy Chief of the General Staff Stepan Galstyan, and the former head of the aviation department of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, Major General Avetik Muradyan, while the other individuals are at liberty.
