Zelensky Signs Law on Seizing Assets of Citizens Supporting Russian Military Action
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has signed a law that provides for the seizure of assets from citizens who support the Russian special military operation.
"Volodymyr Zelensky has signed the law on amendments to certain laws of Ukraine regarding the enhancement of the effectiveness of sanctions related to the assets of individuals," which was approved by the Verkhovna Rada on May 12, 2022, as stated on the president's Telegram channel.
"The procedure for the disclosure and seizure of assets belonging to sanctioned individuals will quickly and effectively contribute to the Ukrainian budget at the expense of the enemies," the Ukrainian leader's words are quoted by Zelensky's office.
