Citizen Loses Control and Falls on Metro Escalator: Metro Reports Incident

Today, an incident occurred at the "Garegin Nzhdeh" station of the Yerevan Metro named after Karen Demirchyan. A citizen lost control while descending the escalator, attempting to take out their mobile phone from their pocket, and fell as reported by Hraparak. The escalator operation was immediately halted.

Auroranews.am contacted Tatyana Khachatryan, the spokesperson for the Metro. She stated that such incidents occur almost daily in the metro; however, a journalist happened to witness today’s event. The incident took place at around 10:00 AM. The duty officer informed the train dispatcher about the situation. An ambulance was called. With the assistance of the on-duty police officers and staff, the passenger was brought down the escalator steps to the platform. The citizen was taken to the hospital but did not have any complaints or grievances.
