France announces first meeting of EU working group on gas
France's Minister for Ecological Transition, Barbara Pompidou, announced at a press conference that the first meeting of the EU working group regarding gas supply will take place on May 5 in Sofia, Bulgaria, as reported by TASS.
“We have examined the situation regarding gas supply in Poland and Bulgaria. My counterparts from these countries stated that there is no imminent threat of interruptions in gas supply for consumers and industry in the near future. We are closely monitoring the situation, and a regional working group will be established for this purpose,” she said.
Pompidou had previously stated that a new package of sanctions against the Russian Federation will not be discussed today at the EU energy ministers' council meeting in Brussels.
