Pashinyan Hosts Georgian Foreign Minister
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met today with Ilia Darchiashvili, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, who has arrived in Armenia on an official visit. This information was provided by the Government of Armenia.
The Prime Minister congratulated Mr. Darchiashvili on his appointment as Georgia’s Foreign Minister and wished him effective work. Appreciating the friendship between Armenia and Georgia, Nikol Pashinyan stated, “There is a high level of political dialogue between Armenia and Georgia, our relations are dynamically developing in various formats and in a positive atmosphere, which creates a good basis for further expansion of cooperation.”
Nikol Pashinyan also emphasized that today, when the regional situation is quite tense, a strong Armenia-Georgia partnership is an important factor for peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
The Georgian Foreign Minister thanked the Prime Minister for the kind wishes and conveyed warm greetings from Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. He noted that Georgia is interested in deepening multifaceted cooperation with Armenia, advancing the bilateral agenda, and welcomes initiatives and programs aimed at this.
Ilia Darchiashvili also added that Georgia values the steps taken towards promoting regional cooperation. The interlocutors discussed issues related to the agenda of Armenian-Georgian partnership. They also addressed the regional situation and developments. In this context, the efforts of regional countries aimed at maintaining stability and developing economic cooperation for a peaceful and prosperous future were highlighted.
Views were also exchanged on international security issues. Prime Minister Pashinyan requested that his warm regards be conveyed to Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
