Former Prime Ministers in Armenia to Receive Transport and Office Space as Desired
The newspaper 'Joghourd' reports: 'Structural changes are expected in the state system. The National Security Service of Armenia has proposed to separate the State Protection Service from the system of the National Security Service and continue its activities as a body of the state governance system. Moreover, it has become known that it is planned to include the service among the bodies subordinate to the Prime Minister.
In addition, amendments and supplements will be made to the Law on 'Ensuring Activities, Services and Social Guarantees of Officials' in Armenia, according to which former Prime Ministers will be granted personal state protection on the territory of Armenia for a period of 10 years, which may be extended in accordance with the procedures established by the Government if necessary. Former Presidents will receive personal state protection for a period of 7 years on the territory of Armenia.
Additionally, former Prime Ministers will be provided with transport and, upon their request, an office space furnished according to their preferences. For the operation of the office, no more than three salaried positions will be allocated, and the funding will be carried out in accordance with the procedures established by the Government.
Moreover, the newspaper 'Joghourd' has learned that the expenses for visits by former Prime Ministers to other countries, not exceeding 20 days in total duration within one year, will be covered by the state budget. Also, for former Prime Ministers, except in cases of dismissal, a special pension will be assigned, amounting to 70 percent of the official salary rate established by law for the position of Prime Minister.' More details can be found in today's issue of the newspaper.
