Video: What Support Has Armenia Provided to Artsakh - Mher Grigoryan
On April 13, during his speech in the National Assembly, Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan presented the social support provided by the Armenian government to Artsakh after the 44-day war. He noted that since 2020 and throughout 2021, more than two dozen measures have been implemented with a total budget of 136 billion drams. Out of this amount, 120 billion was allocated in 2021, Grigoryan mentioned.
Emergency medical care and services have been guaranteed for those affected by emergencies or military or terrorist actions in Artsakh. Throughout 2021, free transport services were provided for the Yerevan-Stepanakert route, for which 175 million drams were allocated in 2021 alone. The government allocated a one-time payment of 68,000 drams to individuals registered or residing in Artsakh, with an additional 15,000 drams in cases where they did not own real estate in Armenia. The budget for this program amounted to 7.3 billion drams, benefiting 100,000 citizens.
Support has also been provided to residents of areas outside the control of Artsakh, with 300,000 drams allocated for each family member. 35,000 individuals benefited from this program. Each family member who lost their home due to shelling in Artsakh received 250,000 drams. The budget for this support was 1.3 billion drams, with 5,388 participants.
Two programs operated for hosting families, where each host in Armenia received 35,000 drams, and in Artsakh, 45,000 drams. Each adult resident received 30,000 drams for hotels. Additionally, a New Year support of 20,000 drams was provided to the preschool population of Artsakh. Full rent was covered for the first academic year for students who participated in combat operations, or if their parent or spouse was involved.
