Our French and American Partners Announce They Will Not Engage with Us in the Minsk Group Format: Lavrov Details
“Our French and American partners in the Minsk Group, amid the current wave of anti-Russian sentiment, said they would not engage with us in the OSCE Minsk Group format,” said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during a press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, responding to a question from News.am.
“That is their right. If they are willing to sacrifice interests in Nagorno-Karabakh and the entire Transcaucasus settlement, if they are ready to sacrifice the interests of the Armenian side, that is their choice. They are holding not only this but also other conflict resolutions hostage to their anti-Russian policies. They are halting cooperation with Russia in all formats, in all possible places to demonstrate their ability to unilaterally impose their will.”
“I consider this approach absolutely irresponsible, and it will not divert us from our path. We are committed to the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement and the implementation of all agreements reached in the trilateral format among the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the Russian Federation. That choice was not ours. If France and the USA decide to do so, then let God be their judge,” the Russian Foreign Minister declared during the press conference with his Armenian counterpart.
