The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that Vahram Khachatryan, the mayor of Metsamor elected in the December elections from the ruling party, has decided to purchase a luxury service vehicle at the expense of the budget. The vehicle in question is a Toyota Prado SUV worth about 32 million drams.

A competition has been announced for this purpose, with parameters set in such a way that it would be impossible to buy a cheaper and lower-class car. For example, the engine must have at least a 3.5-liter displacement and not less than 250 horsepower, must feature an all-wheel-drive system, various other desirable details, and must have a mileage of no more than 60 thousand kilometers. This means it could also be obtained from a private individual and be used.

We were informed that the mayor specifically arranged it this way to acquire this particular vehicle from a specific person. The first phase of the competition did not take place because the individual submitted incomplete documents and was unable to participate.

It is noteworthy that mayors usually purchase lower-class and not expensive vehicles, such as the Toyota Camry, which is at least twice cheaper than the Prado, as a car worth 60-70 thousand dollars is a significant luxury for a small community.
