Killer Military Aid: Anti-Tank Switchblade-600 to Arrive in Ukraine

The Pentagon plans to order and send 10 Switchblade drones armed with anti-tank warheads to Ukraine, as reported by Bloomberg.

The Switchblade-600 is part of a $300 million package of lethal military aid. Weighing 50 pounds, the new model, produced by a company in Simi Valley, California, can fly more than 39 kilometers and remain airborne for 40 minutes before striking with its anti-tank warhead.

The drone operator uses a tablet-based fire control system with a touchscreen that allows for manual guidance of the missile. The previous version of the kamikaze drone has been in service with U.S. special operators since it was secretly sent to Afghanistan in 2010 for use against the Taliban. Military officials have described it as a flying hunting rifle.
