Gharibashvili on Economic Sanctions Against Russia
Georgia will not impose economic sanctions against Russia, as this is in the country's national interests. This was stated today by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili during a press briefing.
“From the first day, today and yesterday, I have always acted based on the interests of our country, and no one will force me to change my decision,” Gharibashvili said.
According to him, he will pursue only the policy dictated by Georgia’s national interests. “Georgia has supported Ukraine on all political platforms, sending nearly 400,000 tons of humanitarian aid to that country. However, Tbilisi is not prepared to join the economic sanctions against Russia,” he reiterated.
