The Supreme Court Accepts the Appeal of the Armenian Prosecutor General in the Khocharian and Others Case
The Supreme Court of Armenia has accepted the appeal filed by the Prosecutor General against the decision of the Armenian Court of Appeals dated November 26, 2021, concerning Robert Kocharian, Suren Ohanyan, Yuri Khachaturov, and Armen Gevorgyan. This information has been reported by the Prosecutor's Office.
In the appeal, the Prosecutor General has requested the Supreme Court to refer to the Constitutional Court to determine the compliance of several provisions of the Armenian Criminal Procedure Code with the Constitution, as well as to annul the decisions of the First Instance and Appellate Courts regarding the discontinuation of criminal prosecution against the mentioned individuals and the termination of part of the criminal case, and to send the criminal case back to a lower court for a new trial.
