Armen Grigoryan Meets Hikmet Hajiyev in Brussels
The Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, met today in Brussels with Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, to advance joint efforts in finding solutions to a number of issues between the two countries.
The meeting, organized by the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Toivo Klaar, addressed the preparatory work for the upcoming meeting between the President of the European Council Charles Michel, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, and the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, scheduled for April 6, 2022.
“During the substantive discussions, which also included a private conversation between Grigoryan and Hajiyev, participants discussed the political and security situation as well as the entire range of issues existing between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as a continuation of the understandings reached during the meeting between the leaders of the two countries and Charles Michel in Brussels on December 14, 2021,” the EU’s official website reported.
Participants agreed to meet again in the coming weeks to continue discussions on issues raised during the meeting between the leaders of the two countries on December 14, 2021. It was also noted that Armenia and Azerbaijan would address questions related to the prospects of a peace agreement between the two countries.
Additionally, it was mentioned that the EU remains committed to continuing its involvement for sustainable peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
It is reminded that information was published on the Council of Europe’s website regarding the joint meeting scheduled for April 6 in Brussels between the President of the European Council Charles Michel, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia, and President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan.
