Being designed (or adapted) for military use is crucial for different reasons, primarily for the proper, comfortable, and practical outfitting of military personnel, as well as for conveniently carrying spare magazines and other firearms.

For example, in this report, NATO troops are conducting exercises in Norway, and it is evident from their winter uniforms that they are designed for military personnel.
