Georgia Displeased with Ukraine's Statement on the Need to Open a 'Second Front'
The statement by Oleksii Danilov, Secretary of the National Security Council of Ukraine, regarding the necessity of opening a 'second front' has sparked a wave of indignation in Tbilisi, both among the ruling party and the opposition, as reported by Sputnik Georgia.
"The Secretary of the National Security Council of Ukraine is calling on Georgia (and others) to abandon the policy of peacefully restoring territorial integrity and to open a second front for the devastation of our cities and villages, so that Georgian women and children should die? Is that right?" asked Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee.
Opposition party member Sandro Rakviashvili of the Girchi party described the statement as "intolerable." ewline Georgia's parliamentary majority member Mikhail Sarjveladze pointed out that the statement left an unpleasant impression, as the extension of war and opening of fronts are undesirable for everyone.
Among the 'second fronts' mentioned by Danilov is also Nagorno-Karabakh. It is worth recalling that today, Oleksii Danilov stated that the opening of additional fronts in other countries, including in Karabakh, would greatly assist Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
