Russia Declares 'Silence Regime' in Ukraine
The armed forces of the Russian Federation announced a 'silence regime' on March 8 at 10:00 Moscow time to facilitate the evacuation of civilians from Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Mariupol. This was announced by the inter-agency coordinator headquarters of the humanitarian response of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, as reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the statement, 'The Russian Federation has fully ensured the preparation and safety of the evacuation of civilians and foreign citizens along the routes planned in the previously announced humanitarian operations.'
