Putin and Macron Speak for 1.5 Hours: Details from Russia
The press service of the President of Russia has issued a statement detailing the phone conversation with Macron.
It states that the issues of military operations will be carried out regardless, and attempts to gain time by dragging out negotiations will only lead to Russia presenting additional demands to Kyiv in the discussions.
Putin disagreed with the comments from the French President, who referred to claims that Russia is fighting against Nazism in Ukraine as "false." Putin elaborated on Russia's conditions in the context of negotiations with representatives from Kyiv. This primarily includes the demilitarization of Ukraine and the establishment of a neutral status so that Ukraine does not pose a threat to Russia.
Putin informed Macron that claims about ongoing missile strikes and bombings of Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities do not reflect reality, describing them as elements of an anti-Russian disinformation campaign.
Notably, the phone conversation lasted for 1.5 hours.
