"This Was an Attempt to Impose Surrender on Us": Kyiv Comments on Why They Refused Negotiations
Ukrainian Presidential Office adviser Oleksiy Arestovych has stated that Kyiv refused negotiations with Russia because the proposed terms were unsatisfactory to the Ukrainian side.
“Ukraine has refused negotiations because the conditions communicated through intermediaries from the Russian side do not meet our expectations. This was an attempt to impose surrender on us. We have sent them a signal that a peace treaty is possible under the terms proposed by Kyiv, not Moscow,” Arestovych's remarks were cited by Strana.ua.
When asked by the media what specific terms Russia had proposed, the advisor to the Ukrainian presidential office declined to respond.
