Thousands Left Without Gas in Tbilisi
Approximately 3,400 subscribers in Tbilisi have been left without natural gas due to damage to a gas pipeline. This was reported by Tbilisi Energy, the gas distribution company.
According to the company’s press service, the cause of the emergency gas shutoff was uncoordinated work by one of the companies in the Didube district, which resulted in the pipeline being damaged. Due to the incident, residents on Marjanishvili Street, Agmashenebeli Avenue, and adjacent streets in the city center are without gas.
Additionally, gas supplies to commercial establishments, schools, higher education institutions, healthcare facilities, pharmacies, and banks in this area have also been cut off. The shutoff also affects the National Center for Georgian Music, the M. Tumanyan Theatre, the Georgian Cinema Development Center, as well as facilities belonging to the Georgian Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Defense.
Gas supply will begin to be restored gradually after noon today, with full restoration expected by the end of the day, reported Sputnik.
