Former Milan defender Kakhaber Kaladze is set to become the mayor of Tbilisi for a second time after winning the elections. According to preliminary data from the Central Election Commission, after processing nearly 100 percent of the ballots in the capital, Kaladze gathered 55.6 percent of the votes in the second round.
His opponent, Nika Melia from the United National Movement party, secured 44.4 percent. The difference between the candidates amounted to 51,700 votes.
