Margaritya Arakelyan Declared Weightlifting European Champion

In the city of Rovaniemi, Finland, our athlete Margaritya Arakelyan has won victory in the girls' 87 kg category at the Weightlifting European Championship for under-20 competitors. She achieved a total lift of 202 kg (86+116), surpassing competitors from Hungary and Poland by one kilogram.

This marks Margaritya Arakelyan's seventh gold medal for Armenia in this championship. Today, Garik Karapetyan and Ara Aghanyan will also compete in the 96 kg category (U-23).
