Preparations were underway in Georgia for a march by representatives of the LGBT community, but it was canceled due to the actions of opponents who blocked Rustaveli Avenue that day. More than 50 journalists have been injured. Participants in the riots threw stones and bottles at representatives of opposition media.

Later, «ТВ Пирвели» announced the death of its operator Lashkarava, who had been injured during protests on July 5. Four people have been arrested. The operator had been treated in a clinic for several days before being discharged. Investigators will determine the exact cause of death.
