Azerbaijan Arrests Retired Lieutenant General with National Hero Title
In Azerbaijan, retired Lieutenant General Rovshan Abkarov has been arrested for four months. This information has been reported by Azerbaijani media.
The reason for the arrest remains unknown. According to Azerbaijani outlets, earlier in February, Minister of Defense Zakir Hasanov dismissed Abkarov from his position as commander of the 4th Army Corps of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.
In 1995, he was awarded the title of National Hero of Azerbaijan by Heydar Aliyev. Telegram channels have reported that Rovshan is a drug addict and a war criminal. His last victim is Karen Petrosyan, a resident of the Tavush region in Armenia, whom he personally tortured and killed.
