Powerful Explosion Rocks Somalia's Capital, At Least 20 Dead

A powerful explosion has rocked Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, resulting in at least 20 fatalities. This was reported by Reuters.

“Currently, we have retrieved 20 dead and 30 injured from the scene of the explosion,” a representative of the ambulance service told the agency.

Witnesses noted that a speeding vehicle exploded near a restaurant. Gunfire was heard following the blast.

Earlier, the Garowe news portal reported that the explosion occurred near a restaurant not far from the city’s prison. Police have closed all roads leading to the area.

Initially, Reuters had reported a total of 25 victims.
