Prime Minister Does Not Link Chief of Staff's Issue with Early Elections Process: Marukyan
No agreement has been reached between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the leader of the Bright Armenia party, Edmon Marukyan, regarding early elections.
“We have held negotiations, and essentially, the Prime Minister does not link the issue of the Chief of Staff with the process of early elections,” Edmon Marukyan, the head of the Bright Armenia faction in the National Assembly, told reporters after the meeting with the Prime Minister.
“We are linking them because we see that the problem of the Chief of Staff has been added to the existing crisis in the country. At this moment, we do not have any agreement on any issue. As far as I understand, there will also be a meeting with our colleague Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the Prosperous Armenia party. The processes cannot move forward solely with our position, and the National Assembly cannot be dissolved. When the position of the Prosperous Armenia party is discussed, I believe there will be negotiations again,” Marukyan stated.
According to him, there is an understanding that it is necessary to find ways to overcome the situation created in the country.
