Prime Minister Submits Proposal to Appoint Artak Davtyan as Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has submitted a proposal to President Armen Sarkissian for the appointment of Artak Davtyan as the Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff, as reported by the Prime Minister’s press secretary Mane Gevorgyan to Armenpress.
Artak Davtyan previously held the position of Chief of the General Staff from May 24, 2018, until June 8, 2020. On July 16, 2020, he was appointed as the Chairman of the State Committee for Military Industry of Armenia by a decision of the Prime Minister. He was dismissed from that position on November 11, 2020. Subsequently, on March 9, 2021, Davtyan was appointed as a senior officer for special assignments by the Minister of Defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan.
