Blizzard and Snow on Certain Roads in Armenia
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed roads within the territory of Armenia.
The Berd-Chambarak road is closed, as well as roads from the 'Amberd' high mountainous meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province towards Amberd Fortress and the Kʼari Lake.
The Vardenyats Pass is open for all types of vehicles, though it is difficult to navigate for trucks with trailers (snow chains are required).
There are patches of black ice on the Vanadzor-Dilijan road and on the roads in Syunik Province.
In the town of Hrazdan in Kotayk Province, it is snowing.
In the area known as 'Meghru Sar' in Syunik Province, there is a blizzard.
According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepanstminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles, although approximately 600 freight trucks are stuck on the Russian side.
Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
