16 Protesters and 17 Police Officers Injured in Catalonia Unrest, Several Cases of Vandalism Reported
During ongoing protests in Catalonia, at least 14 protesters have been arrested by police, according to reports from TASS citing data from the Catalan police. Incidents of vandalism have been reported in Barcelona, Girona, and Lleida.
The police's demands to cease the protests in Valencia have also led to unrest. The police station adjacent to the Vicky City Hall has been vandalized, resulting in several law enforcement officers sustaining injuries.
According to reported data, a total of 17 police officers and 16 protesters have been injured in the clashes. Protests have erupted across various regions of Catalonia due to rapper Pablo Hasél's nine-month imprisonment, for being accused of promoting terrorism and insulting the crown.
In some cities, the protests have escalated into clashes between citizens and police, with protesters erecting barricades, setting motorcycles and trash bins ablaze, and throwing various objects at the police. In response, police have used rubber bullets against the protesters.
