Putin Had a Phone Conversation with Biden
The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, had a phone conversation with U.S. President Joseph Biden, as reported by the Kremlin's press service.
Putin emphasized that the normalization of relations between Moscow and Washington would correspond to the interests of both countries. The parties also discussed bilateral and international agendas, particularly issues related to combating the coronavirus pandemic.
The Russian President congratulated Biden on officially starting his work as President of the United States.
“Vladimir Putin congratulated Joseph Biden on officially commencing his duties as President of the United States. He noted that the normalization of relations between Russia and the U.S. would align with the interests of both countries, considering their special responsibility for maintaining global security and stability for the entire international community,” the statement said.
