From Now On, Only January 1, 2, and 6 Will Be Non-Working Days During New Year. New Project
A draft law has been submitted for discussion on the changes to the Law of the Republic of Armenia on "Holidays and Commemoration Days of the Republic of Armenia" on the unified website for publication of legal acts. The draft proposes to designate December 31, January 3, 4, 5, and 7 as working days.
The draft states that the New Year and Christmas celebrations are observed only from January 1 to January 2 inclusive, while January 6 is also considered a holiday. These days will be non-working, while the others will be working days.
The justification for the draft mentions that the number of paid non-working days currently allotted to citizens of Armenia exceeds that of many developed countries and even more so developing countries.
