Armenia and Azerbaijan Consistently Implementing Obligations Under Tri-Party Statement, Putin
Armenia and Azerbaijan are consistently implementing the obligations undertaken in the tri-party statement of November 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated today during an online summit of CSTO leaders.
“The leadership of Armenia, the Prime Minister had to make very difficult decisions that were necessary for the Armenian people. These are, of course, painful and required great courage from the Prime Minister,” the Russian President said, adding, “Everyone present understands the level of responsibility that comes with making such decisions. Pashinyan has taken that responsibility upon himself.”
Reiterating Moscow's role and efforts to halt the bloodshed, Putin noted, “Our task is to support Pashinyan and his team so that a peaceful life can be established and all agreements reached are implemented.”
The Russian president also mentioned that at the end of the summit, the members of the organization would adopt a special statement on “the formation of a just and sustainable world order.” Further details regarding the document have not yet been disclosed.
The CSTO includes Armenia, Belarus, Russia, and three Central Asian states: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
