Regardless of Everything, Early Elections Remain an Urgent Demand: Arsen Julfalakyan
Former MP of the 'My Step' faction, Arsen Julfalakyan, made a post on his Facebook page discussing the necessity of analyzing history and drawing lessons from it. Below is the post:
“And again the same question: why do we read history solely for information instead of analyzing it and learning lessons? Can we not, for instance, study and understand who has been the most effective negotiator with the Aliyevs over the past 25 years? Who possesses the dry yet somewhat flexible negotiating style (which is very necessary at this moment), and whom does the dictator of the neighboring state have a personal 'nervousness' about that even this victory will not help overcome?
Let’s think. Ultimately, there is a super task of preserving historical territories, which implies rising above personal interests (and everything else) and being guided by the benefit of the state. This is how a statesman differs from a political/party figure.
Moreover, I believe that the negotiator should not be given any particular office but should be endowed with the special powers necessary for negotiation.
P.S. Regardless of everything, early elections remain an urgent necessity.”
