French Senate Accepts Resolution Recognizing Artsakh's Independence
The discussion of the resolution on the necessity of recognizing the Republic of Artsakh has concluded in the French Senate. This resolution was presented by senators Bruno Retailleau, Patrick Mignon, Hervé Marseille, Alian Aghasyan, and Guillaume Gontard.
According to the proposal, an open vote was organized. Out of 336 representatives, 306 voted, with 305 in favor and one against.
The Senate of the French Republic made the decision to present the draft resolution on the necessity of recognizing the Republic of Artsakh for voting on November 18, just hours after the Paris City Hall accepted a call to recognize the Republic of Artsakh. It was signed by the presidents of the five largest political groups in the Senate.
