22 Planes Transporting Russian Peacekeepers Arrived in Armenia in One Day, Russian Defense Ministry
Il-76 and An-124 aircraft have made 22 flights to Armenia in one day to transport Russian peacekeepers to Nagorno-Karabakh. This was reported by the "RIA Novosti" agency, citing the Russian Defense Ministry.
The security of the convoy in the airspace is provided by accompanying Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters.
"In one day, military transport aviation Il-76 and An-124 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces have conducted 22 flights from the Ulyanovsk-Vostochny airport to Armenia. A total of 64 units of automotive and special equipment have been transported to Armenia, including armored vehicles, trucks, fuel tankers, excavators, and other logistical support equipment," the Russian Defense Ministry's statement read.
It should be noted that on November 11, a trilateral agreement was signed between Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan, which included the deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh.
