Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan Urges Citizens Not to Pollute Nature and Harm Environmental Biodiversity
The Minister of Environment, Romanos Petrosyan, is urging citizens to show care and consideration for nature and the environment. In a post on his Facebook page, Petrosyan also highlighted the work being carried out by the ministry.
“Dear citizens, I kindly request and urge you to display a high level of civic consciousness and a caring attitude towards our natural resources during your leisure time, and in general, throughout your activities while in nature and visiting the picturesque corners and natural monuments of our incomparable landscape. Under no circumstances should you litter in such environments, nor should you harm the biodiversity of the surrounding environment, thus disrupting the harmonious and unspoiled coexistence and development of the natural setting around us,” the minister stated.
Petrosyan emphasized that everyone has a responsibility to live in harmony with nature, abiding by highly responsible coexistence rules and adopting an extremely non-harmful approach towards the environment in our lifestyle.
“I would like to inform you that all processes related to the allocation of land plots for lease or construction rights within Specially Protected Natural Areas (SPNA) and the territory of ‘Hayantar’ have been completely halted. Additionally, all processes for leasing or construction rights on the entire coastal area of Lake Sevan, within the ‘Sevan National Park’ land plots, have been fully suspended. We have initiated reviews of the management contracts for the land plots that have been allocated within the aforementioned zones (thousands of them) and those that show violations of contractual obligations, as well as environmental, urban planning, and land construction regulations will be unequivocally annulled, either unilaterally or through judicial procedures,” mentioned Petrosyan.
