The Commandant's Office Clarifies for Migrant Workers
The Commandant's Office has issued a clarification regarding migrant workers, stating: "Yesterday, MP Edmon Marukyan announced that Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan had promised that the easing of restrictions would affect those leaving for work abroad, but he reneged on his promise.
First and foremost, there could not have been any easing of restrictions for those going abroad simply because no restrictions had been imposed by Armenia in this sector. In other words, it is impossible to ease a non-existent restriction.
Furthermore, individuals going abroad for work are unable to enter Russia as the Russian government's decision prohibiting foreign citizens from entering the country remains in effect. As seen in the video shared by Mr. Marukyan, the Deputy Prime Minister stated that we will announce solutions on August 12.
Yesterday, Tigran Avinyan made it clear several times from the podium of the National Assembly about the solutions. The Deputy Prime Minister mentioned that discussions have begun regarding the timelines and conditions for restoring air communication with the Russian Federation, during which the issues concerning those going abroad for work will also be addressed.
It should also be noted that the extension of the state of emergency in Armenia does not affect the restoration of air communication with Russia in any way. The decision to prohibit the entry of foreign citizens falls within the sovereign domain of each country and is not dependent on the declaration of a state of emergency or its extension in another country."
