Residents of the 4th Village Provide Assistance to Blackened and Helpless Storks
For several days now, residents of the 'Victory' neighborhood (4th Village) in Yerevan have been providing daily assistance to stork chicks that are completely blackened and in a helpless state. On August 11th, the local residents discovered two stork chicks that had fallen from their nest, built on electric poles near the graves, and were on the ground in a vulnerable condition.
They urgently relocated the chicks to a safe place and attempted to clean the black marks off them, but were unsuccessful. The community cared for the storks until they managed to find a ladder in order to return the chicks to their nest. In an interview with a photojournalist, residents stated: 'The storks have been in a completely blackened state for quite a while now. Honestly, we don’t know what is causing this, but no matter how hard we try to clean them, it doesn’t work. We want environmentalists to keep this issue in their sights, as it is evident that something is not right.'
