SATM Suspends Operations of 5 Hotels

The Health and Labor Inspection Body's working groups today examined large hotels and resorts alongside various operators in different sectors. Continuous monitoring is being conducted by all territorial divisions of the Health and Labor Inspection Body (HLIB) in Yerevan and throughout the regions simultaneously.

In Jermuk, inspection visits were carried out in several hotels following alerts received through the HLIB hotline. Observations indicated that while compliance with safety norms was generally better, there were still many cases of individuals not wearing masks.

Simultaneous visits also continued at hotels along the shores of Lake Sevan, particularly in the Shorzha area. Significant violations were recorded in these areas, with the most concerning issues related to sanitation, the required number of trash bins, record-keeping, and the absence of disinfectants. A proposal for the suspension of several resorts operating in this region will be submitted to the Chief of Police.

Today's ongoing inspections also included major beverage production facilities in the Armavir region, large clothing manufacturers in Vanadzor, medical institutions, banks, production and service facilities in Yerevan, dental clinics, beauty salons, pharmacies in Yerevan, and more.

Based on the violations recorded in previous days, the operations of 5 hotels have been suspended today, with the acceptance of guests banned for 24 hours at the following branches: “Vanik Stepanyan” LLP in Sevan, “Arzakan Conference House” LLC in Arzakan, “Livad” LLC in Aghveran, “Arzakan Triad” LLC in Aghveran, and “Vahe Kamo” LLC in Sevan.

In comparison to June and July statistics, the violations observed during the intensified monitoring by the HLIB in August have significantly decreased. There is also a marked decline in the alerts received through the HLIB hotline.

Among the dozens of operators being monitored, only a few are facing suspension at present. While violations were more frequent in dental clinics and beauty salons in previous months, they are now notably more prevalent in hotels and resorts. In connection with the activation of tourism during this period, the inspection body has intensified its oversight of operators in this sector.

The HLIB once again emphasizes that compliance with the safety norms established by the Chief of Police is mandatory; otherwise, administrative liability will be applied.
