27-Year-Old Pedestrian Hit on Yerevan-Sevan Highway; Dies on Way to Hospital
A fatal pedestrian accident occurred in the Kotayk Province on March 18. The Investigative Committee of Armenia’s Kotayk Provincial Division reported that around 8:20 PM, a citizen died in an ambulance while being transported to the Abovyan Medical Center.
According to Shamshyan.com, the investigative team has determined that at approximately 8:00 PM, a 37-year-old resident of Charentsavan, identified as Ashot M., struck 27-year-old Narek Y., a resident of Arzakan village, with his Mercedes vehicle at the 23rd kilometer of the Yerevan-Sevan highway. The driver did not flee the scene and assisted in transporting the injured pedestrian to the Abovyan Medical Center; however, Narek succumbed to his injuries en route.
Investigator reports indicate that officers located Ashot M. and his vehicle in the hospital parking lot. Following the investigator's instructions, the vehicle was transported to the protected area of the Kotayk division of the police.
