44-Year-Old Man Killed in Tragic Car Accident Was Deputy Colonel in the Ministry of Defense
Yesterday, on March 6, a tragic car accident occurred on Isakov Avenue in Yerevan, resulting in the death of 44-year-old Narek Hovakimyan, a resident of Yerevan who worked in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, Hovakimyan held the rank of deputy colonel.
Sources indicate that the driver involved in the accident, 39-year-old Roman Chilingaryan, is a former employee of the Road Police and also a resident of Yerevan. G. Shamshyan reported that the case regarding the incident, which was initiated by the senior investigator Vardan Sargsyan from the Road Transport Crimes Division of the Yerevan Investigative Department of the Investigation Committee of Armenia, may be transferred to the military investigative department of the main investigative directorate of the Committee.
It is noteworthy that the collision took place at approximately 23:10 on Isakov Avenue, near the Police Academy. The cars involved were a Mercedes C240 with license plate 50 ZZ 006 and a Mercedes S 600 with license plate 99 TT 969.
