Novoselcov Water Pipeline Explodes in Lori Province, Sweeping Away Section of Interstate Road
Today, around 5 PM, the Novoselcov water pipeline, which supplies water to Vanadzor city and several communities, has exploded again in the Lori province on the Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Bagratashen-Georgia border highway, in the vicinity of Vahagnadzor village.
A reporter from Armenian Time reports from the scene that due to the accident, the water pressure has torn and swept away a portion of the asphalt on the interstate road, making it one-way.
Currently, repair teams from Veolia Water Company, the Traffic Police, and rescuers are working at the site.
The interstate road has been closed to heavy vehicles. It’s noteworthy that this is the second major accident involving this water pipeline in recent days, causing significant damage to the recently renovated Vanadzor-Alaverdi interstate road.
