Customs Committee Discovers Approximately 46 kg of Concealed Drugs
The employees of the Customs Anti-Smuggling Department of the State Revenue Committee recently thwarted attempts to illegally import a total of approximately 46 kg of various types of drugs at the Bagratashen checkpoint. This information was provided by the Information and Public Relations Division of the Customs Committee.
In one incident, the employees discovered 10 kg of various drugs concealed under the trunk cover of a vehicle belonging to an Armenian citizen and from a plastic box of the engine air filter.
At the Bagratashen checkpoint, during an inspection of another citizen's vehicle, officials from the Anti-Smuggling Department found around 36 kg of drugs hidden behind the vehicle's dashboard and inside a spare tire.
Based on these incidents, materials were prepared under Article 201 of the Customs Code of the Republic of Armenia, and these were forwarded to the legal department of the State Revenue Committee.
