Attempted Murder in Yerevan: Shots Fired at Passenger of an 'Infinity' Car
On February 21, 2020, in the Aeracia neighborhood of Yerevan, a suspect, carrying an illegal firearm, fired shots at a citizen traveling in an 'Infinity' branded vehicle. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the suspect was unable to complete the crime as the bullets struck the trunk cover and the metal frame of a gas cylinder.
The Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia reports that a criminal case has been initiated in the Shengavit Administrative District Investigation Division of the investigative committee, under Article 34-104 (attempted murder) and Article 235 (illegal acquisition, sale, storage, transportation, or carrying of firearms, ammunition, explosives, or explosive devices) of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
Investigations have revealed the identity of the person who fired the shots at the citizen. A decision has been made to arrest the individual. Comprehensive investigative and procedural actions are underway to clarify all circumstances of the case. The pre-investigation continues.
