It is Necessary to Temporarily Close the Armenia-Iran Border Amid the Spread of Coronavirus: Edmon Marukyan
The head of the Enlightened Armenia faction in the National Assembly, Edmon Marukyan, made a post on his Facebook page addressing the spread of coronavirus in neighboring Iran. He specifically stated that it is necessary to temporarily close the Armenia-Iran land route and postpone flights until the spread of the virus in Iran is neutralized.
“We are receiving disturbing and alarming information from our friendly neighbor Iran. Given the current situation, we believe it is necessary to temporarily close the Armenia-Iran land border, including postponing flights, until the sporadic spread of the coronavirus in Iran is neutralized. This is a necessary measure in the interests of our national security, as failing to implement appropriate measures could lead to irreversible consequences. Moreover, we express our concern and sympathy to the friendly nation, hoping they will be able to avert this impending disaster,” he noted.
