7 People Killed in Turkey Quake, 25 Injured in Iran
Turkey's Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu has reported that at least 7 people have died as a result of an earthquake in eastern Turkey. Soylu stated that the victims include 3 children and 4 adults. An additional 5 injured individuals have been transported to the hospital.
The earthquake in Turkey registered a magnitude of 5.7. According to information from Iran, there are 25 reported injuries.
It is noteworthy that on February 23 at 09:53 local time (05:53 GMT), a magnitude 5.8 earthquake was recorded by the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations at geographic coordinates of 38.390° N latitude and 44.600° E longitude, located 25 km southwest of the city of Salmas in Iran, at a depth of 10 km. The intensity of the tremors in the epicentral zone reached 8 on the Richter scale.
The earthquake was felt in Yerevan at a magnitude of 3-4, and in the Ararat and Syunik regions at a magnitude of 3.
