Tragic Accident on Yerevan-Sevan Road: Driver Dies Without Regaining Consciousness
Today, on February 21, a major and tragic car accident occurred in the Kotayk region. At around 18:45, Razmik Asatryan, a 37-year-old resident of the village of Geghashen in Kotayk, driving a Mercedes with license plate 17 PX 777, crashed into the iron barriers on the 48th kilometer of the Yerevan-Sevan highway while heading towards Sevan. The vehicle spun several times for approximately 300 meters and collided with the opposite iron barriers, partially coming to a stop in the middle of the road.
According to reports from the scene by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the driver passed away en route to the medical center of Hrazdan, without regaining consciousness, after being diagnosed with severe injuries by the doctors who promptly arrived at the scene. The driver was found injured and outside the vehicle. Friends of the deceased, who arrived at the scene, stated that he was traveling to Ijevan.
